Welcome to our blog, a selection of some of our work and things we like.
We have just produced Cambridge Consultants biannual publication Interface but with a difference … to mark the turn of 50 we have re-designed the layout to give a lighter, fresher feel. We have given Interface more space to allow the articles to breath. Introducing more white space, with the use of margins and block colours, as well as using the occasional large full-page image. The publication definitely has a cleaner feel without moving to far away from Cambridge Consultants existing branding.

We at 2idesign have been working on the NEW Parkside Federation Academies branding. It includes a range of media… including the corporate identity, stationary, prospectus and the re-developement of the website. As part of the exciting redesign we have also produced a dynamic TV screen that welcome visitors to the schools. It is in sync with the website, showing upcoming events, latest news and visitors to the school. We feel the NEW branding gives a cleaner, vibrant feel to the school. The NEW website will be launching in the near future.

We came across this today and thought the filming was excellent, the pure happiness on the face of the people.
The film is made by the talented Wiissa. Please go to her vimeo page to read about the trip and give her credit.

Floor Wesseling’s ‘Blood In Blood Out’ project to see what happens when you combine shirts of rival soccer teams into one new shirt. Shown here is the design for the Brazil shirt mixed with that of its ex-colonial overlord Portugal, we think it makes for a very interesting design concept.

For 22 years they have existed only in the year 2015 on Marty McFly’s feet. Based on an original movie prop used in Back to the Future Part II, the 2011 Nike MAG shoes have been rebuilt to the exact specifications of the originals. We think these shoes are very cool featuring space-age materials and a rechargeable internal battery good for 3,000 hours. And while they are not recommended for playing sports, these highly limited shoes will very likely command attention wherever they are worn.
For 10 days, 150 pairs of 2011 Nike MAG shoes will be listed on eBay. The first of the auctions begins September 8 at 11:30 p.m. EDT. All net proceeds from the auction sales of the 2011 Nike MAG shoes will go directly to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Tinie Tempah has spent £24,000 to become the first person to own a pair of the new Nike trainers based on the sneakers worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future II.

The new packaging, which Coke says is a ‘limited edition’ uses a graphic that is basically a crop of the logo wrapped around the can – full versions are also applied just in case shoppers were unable to identify the brand. Put two of the cans together and the word ‘OK’ is (sort of) spelled out.

A photo is worth a thousand words. This app is new for the iPhone and iPad, but the concept has been out there foe a while. Take a photo for each day of the year. You can add a caption to go with it, I would recommend always write something no matter how insignificant.
This concept for an app is great and in my opinion one of the best, it has a great feel good factor. Start using it.

Walking the dog along the river Cam in Cambridge on the way to the studio. I do like the classic design of the wooden boats.

It is said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, Well, Cambridge Garage Doors have been highly flattered of late by two garage door companies pretending to be them!
We were initially asked to design a Yellow Pages advert that represented a local and friendly feel, emphasising that they were the only Cambridge based Garage Door Specialists. The advert had to stand out from all the adverts placed by large National companys’.
Following on from the success of the advert we were asked to design their website, bringing it in line with the successful advert. We produced a CMS that was easy for the client to control, add pages, add new products and write a blog … the illustrative design enforced their brand, giving that friendly local, neighborhood feeling, that Cambridge Garage doors give their clients .
Introducing the iPhone SLR mount. A case-adapter combo that allows you to mount your Canon EOS or Nikon SLR lenses on to your iPhone 4 giving you the opportunity to turn your iPhone into powerful camera. Ehmm not quite so easy to fit into you back pocket thought!

We have recently been producing a large number of marketing pieces for Solutions for Business- a suite of publicly funded business support, products and services designed to help businesses start, grow and succeed. With them working closely with St John’s Innovation Centre, a client of ours, it led us to design flyers and banners through to Powerpoint presentations and a WordPress blog.

Reebok have come up with a solution to the ‘putting the run off until tomorrow’ excuse. With this app ‘Promise Keeper’ you put in when you are intending to run. The app links into Facebook and Twitter, so your friends all know. Here’s the fun bit, if you don’t go for that run (or press the finish button), the app tells all your friends that you were a drop out. This app is for both iPhone and Android.
If you are starting running another good app is ‘Run Keeper’

15 million ipads were sold in 2010 and according to Gartner there are going to be 54 million tablets sold this year. How long will it be before the smart publishers are taking advantage of this new exciting opportunity?

Having worked with Hodder Education on a number of publications, we were pleased when they came to us with a new brief for ‘PYP Springboad’. PYP Springboard are designed to be used flexibly by teachers and students of the IB Primary Years Programme, supporting a school’s inquiry programme and the teaching of the units of inquiry.
We were asked to design 18 covers in the series, with 3 accompanying book template for the required age bands, Early Years, Lower Primary and Upper Primary. We wanted the covers to show the changes of age group by the sophistication of the shapes and colours. We also designed a new identity to be used across all of the series on a variety of available media.

Contemporary Fusion aims to be more than just a “One stop shop” for IT support. It aims to provide you with a service that makes your IT investments work for you. We came across Contempory Fusion on the developers networking/bulletin board ‘Cambridge Refresh’, where they were looking for a new brand identity and the design of their website. They had a lot of interest from a number of design agencies before choosing 2idesign, a skills-trade was implemented where we could pick their knowledge of server side support in exchange of our design skills.

We have rebranded Cambridge Triathlon club as part of our sponsership. Take a second look at the logo, what do you see?
The Tri suite has been signed off and now has gone to be produced, so watch out for the mane as you are passed in your next Triathlon.

The cycle top is done as well. The top again is asymmetric with a distinctive flash on one arm to highlight oncoming competitors as a team member.

Open Objects has customers across all major sectors including Government, Local Government and Corporate sectors. 2idesign and Open Objects have worked in collaboration on a number of Local Government websites for youth, adult and family services. With this in mind they asked us to take a look at the design of their own website, to bring it more inline with what we were producing for their clients. We also wanted to get across the strong branding we had developed for some banner designs for them previously.
