Having worked with Hodder Education on a number of publications, we were pleased when they came to us with a new brief for ‘PYP Springboad’. PYP Springboard are designed to be used flexibly by teachers and students of the IB Primary Years Programme, supporting a school’s inquiry programme and the teaching of the units of inquiry.
We were asked to design 18 covers in the series, with 3 accompanying book template for the required age bands, Early Years, Lower Primary and Upper Primary. We wanted the covers to show the changes of age group by the sophistication of the shapes and colours. We also designed a new identity to be used across all of the series on a variety of available media.

Contemporary Fusion aims to be more than just a “One stop shop” for IT support. It aims to provide you with a service that makes your IT investments work for you. We came across Contempory Fusion on the developers networking/bulletin board ‘Cambridge Refresh’, where they were looking for a new brand identity and the design of their website. They had a lot of interest from a number of design agencies before choosing 2idesign, a skills-trade was implemented where we could pick their knowledge of server side support in exchange of our design skills.
We have rebranded Cambridge Triathlon club as part of our sponsership. Take a second look at the logo, what do you see?
The Tri suite has been signed off and now has gone to be produced, so watch out for the mane as you are passed in your next Triathlon.
The cycle top is done as well. The top again is asymmetric with a distinctive flash on one arm to highlight oncoming competitors as a team member.

Open Objects has customers across all major sectors including Government, Local Government and Corporate sectors. 2idesign and Open Objects have worked in collaboration on a number of Local Government websites for youth, adult and family services. With this in mind they asked us to take a look at the design of their own website, to bring it more inline with what we were producing for their clients. We also wanted to get across the strong branding we had developed for some banner designs for them previously.

After successfully designing the Summer School pages for the University of Cambridge Department of Veterinary Medicine, we were asked to re-design the admissions pages of the site. Admissions should not just be a form, it is still a reflection of the establishment that you are applying for and with that in mind, we drew attention to the animals rather then the humans. However, its function is to get people to apply so on the home page we used key features to achieve that.

Nanna Mexico in Cambridge has a reputation for creating classic Mexican favourites … but their menus weren’t showing this or drawing in the passing public. 2idesign designed a variety of new ‘FRESH’ as the food menu boards. Large pictures of the food make it clear to see from the street what the restaurant has to offer, introducing brighter colours and visible prices made it clearer still.

Swedish retailer Ikea launch their new cookbook, Hembakat är Bäst (Homemade is Best) It deconstructs the ingredients for a recipe and presents them in a minimalist yet stylish manner. Each of the 30 recipes has two photographs, one of the ingredients and the other of the finished product.

Parkside Sixth Form required a brand that wasn’t just modern and unique, but it had to work with the existing well known Parkside Federation brand and across all the new aspects of Parkside 6.
A brand was created that focused on the number ‘6’, the aim of using this kind of iconography was to begin to create a relationship between the number 6 and the sixth form itself. This is so no matter what environment a number 6 may be seen in, a direct relationship would be made between the number and the sixth form itself.

Tipp-Ex’s latest campaign has gone viral thanks to youtube. Tippexperience involves a hunter about to shoot a bear. However, he changes his mind and uses Tipp-Ex to correct the word ’shoots’ in the video title bar. You can now determine the interaction between the bear and hunter- there are over 50 different endings, each resulting with a different video clip- Check it out!
It’s official now the twitter app is on the iPad and it’s free. The app has taken advantage of the touchscreen capability. It is really quite nice.

It’s all about connecting people with products and services in the most effective and friendly way. The Kingston-i site is designed to be clear, friendly and easy to navigate. 2idesign works with Open Objects who provide a one-stop solution for online signposting of care services for adults. It is ideal for Local Authorities, Primary Care Trusts and Local Strategic Partnerships (LSP’s) to collaborate in providing information-rich websites which cross the boundaries of social care.
The Times iPad App is now frequently using infographics to accompany articles providing an easily digestible and visual presentation of information. Designed by Applied Works, this element of the app was developed to accompany a news story on the North South health divide. Showing 32 different health indicators across 9 regions of England, wheels act a visual barometers with a colour coding system to identifying which regions score ‘better than’, ‘worse than’ or ‘average’ compared to the national average.

One article that stood out in the biannual publication we designed for Cambridge Consultants was this one. The humorous image relating to the article went down a storm, but didn’t sit too well in the Wireless Division for obvious reasons.
Over the last five years Cambridge Consultants’ Wireless Division has seen a massive surge in demand for DSP-related design services. So what now makes it so appealing?

The Medway Family Information Service Directory is a resource designed to assist parents, practitioners, children and young people to access and utilise a range of services, resources and activities in the area. Whether you are looking for childcare, support groups, fun things to do, educational opportunities or information about your rights, this directory provides a broad selection of options and information to help you find the services you need. 2idesign were asked to design a website that was easy to navigate as well as being bright and fresh. The coloured areas help you navigate round the site, as do the newly designed icons, which again gives a friendly feel.
With TomTom being one of our clients we always like to keep up to date with what new tricks they have up their sleeve. We particularly like this one!
